Lost in the Beat: Overview

musical play set in Liverpool and introduces Rose who runs a community choir and has always dreamed of being a singer/songwriter. The story follows her journey as she receives some devastating news… Lost in the Beat is a full-length play with original music, written specifically for the show. Rose runs a Community Choir, and when she was young, she dreamed of being a singer songwriter. Her Mum didn’t share her ambition and she followed a conventional path instead. Happily married to Charlie, with 2 gorgeous boys, the story follows Rose’s painful journey as she, her family and friends experience all the devastating consequences of her Alzheimer’s diagnosis. The play is about the incredible power of music and community, with both sad and comedic moments in equal measure! It shows how the community literally wraps it’s arms around Rose and her family, so that even with progressive Alzheimer’s she can still be present through the magic of music. …….and, more importantly, how it’s never too late to follow your dreams! We hope that the audience will leave the theatre feeling joyous and moved by Lost in the Beat.
